In June of 2023 Dr. Daniel Mendoza takes Go Learn to the country of his youth, Kenya. This absolutely stunning trip takes travelers to the heart of Kenya and beyond. June marks the beginning of the Great Migration where 1.5 million wildebeest, 400,000 zebras, 12,000 elands, and 300,000 gazelles making the trek from the southern Serengeti to the Masai Mara. We will witness the greatest mammal trek in the world while also visiting the Maasai people, learning about Kenya’s ecosystems, and its history and cultures. We will learn about the latest challenges of climate change, meet the people of the land, and enjoy breathtaking days and magical nights. This diverse journey takes us not only to the Maasai people, but also to the beaches of Kenya, the flamingos of Nakuru National Park, the cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Malindi, and Lamu.

Know Before You Go:

While none of Go Learn’s adventures are truly extreme, our journey across Kenya is considered Level 3 out of the three participation levels we offer. This trip will feature long days, remote places, long hikes and walks, wild animals, and all the wilderness and nature that makes this country so unique. Level 3 may include days of walking to up to, and in excess, of 10 miles. We encourage you to read our terms and conditions once more HERE. Participants are expected to move and carry their own luggage here and there. We will have guidance on what and how to pack at our pre-departure meeting.
