This 12-day journey will take us to the streets of Cape Town, to the coastline of Hermanus, and into Kruger National Park. You’ll see incredible wildlife, travel through varied landscapes, and experience a deep connection to each place you visit along the way.
Travel alongside University of Utah faculty member Dr. Melissa Watt and South African educator and Expedition Edu CEO Duane Stacey, whose local knowledge and on-the-ground perspective bring each destination to life. You’ll explore vibrant neighborhoods, share meals rooted in tradition, and move through experiences that feel both meaningful and personal.
From early-morning safari drives, relaxing afternoons along dramatic coastlines, shared meals, conversation, and reflection, each stop offers something unique. You’ll experience Cape Town culture and close-up wildlife encounters in one of Africa’s most iconic national parks.
With a small group, thoughtfully selected accommodations, and a seamless itinerary from start to finish, this journey allows you to be fully present in the experience rather than focused on logistics.

- Cape Peninsula and Cape of Good Hope: Take in sweeping coastal views along Chapman’s Peak. Drive and stand at the edge of the continent where the ocean stretches in every direction.
- Boulders Beach Penguin Colony: Walk just steps away from a protected colony of African penguins in a setting that feels both wild and intimate.
- Table Mountain and Cape Town Cultural Experience: Ride to the top of Table Mountain for panoramic views, then explore the Bo-Kaap through food, history, and local storytelling.
