DANA SOHM

After 25 years as a Special Assistant United States Attorney, Dana Sohm’s photographic career started in 2002 with self-published photo notecards of Olympic building murals. At that time, Sohm’s notecards, created using Photoshop and printed on a desktop inkjet printer, greatly outsold commercially produced cards. Subsequent notecards of the Salt Lake Library came to the attention of the library’s architect, who hired him to shoot the firm’s other work. In 2007, Sohm quit his day job to embrace architectural photography full-time. In 2004, Sohm served as chief photo restorer for Salt Lake-based Inkleys Corporation, using Photoshop to digitally repair scratched, faded, and torn antique photographic heirlooms. Sohm has taught Photoshop and digital imaging at the Salt Lake Art Center since 2002 and now brings his experience to Lifelong Learning.
