SKIP SCHMIETT

Skip Schmiett found his passion for photography while taking a break from his Fine Art studies at the University of Utah. After a brief apprenticeship with a respected portrait photographer, Skip moved his focus to commercial photography and opened Skip Schmiett photography 35 years ago. Whether shooting from his 5,000 square foot studio or on location, Skip brings creativity under pressure, careful lighting and an eye for detail to every assignment.

Working with a wide range of clients, Skip has photographed everything from ood to fashion, small devices to massive architectural wonders. His extensive client list includes American Express, ARUP, Carl’s Junior restaurants, Gastronomy, Hilton Hotels, 3M Corp, Maggie Sottero, Maverick Stores Inc., Sizzler, Yamaha and University of Utah Continuing Education. Skip has taught studio seminars and lectured at Salt Lake Community College. He is experienced with 8x10, 4x5, 2 ¼, and 35mm film formats as well as FX and Medium Format digital camera systems and software.
