MEG KINGHORN

Meg Kinghorn, an associate of Dawn Marano & Associates, began a daily practice of writing as part of a friendly challenge in her writing group. Since then, journaling has become a meditative practice, a means of self discovery and a rich trove for essays and poems. Since 2009 she has facilitated as a mentor with the DiverseCity Writing Series, a Community Writing Center program located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has been featured in their "sine cera" publication. She contributed as an author in the Utah Cultural Celebration Center's 2012 Ekphrasis Exhibit, and was named as a finalist in the Lascaux Flash 2013 Flash Fiction contest. She is currently working on a series of creative non-fiction essays.

"Meg provided a structure for this class that provided positive feedback and constructive criticism from her and the other students. She, and other teachers like her, are the reason why I will not take an online class. Being there and interacting in a positive learning environment is the only way to go!
It's also obvious that Meg has a love for the subject and her students alike...couldn't ask for a better class!!"

"I loved my instructor, Meg. She was such a great leader and mentor for the class and was so great in cultivating positive relationships amongst our writing group. I think everyone got something special from this class."

"Thank you so much for the amazing opportunity of learning from you and communing with the other students. What an amazing course you have created. It was transformative for me. Thank you so much for sending me the pictures and the audio tape [from the whiteboard experience]. I look forward to having time to review them and learn from them again.... and again. The writing prompts you gave created new insights for me as well. [They helped] me see things in a new light and find my truth and passion in a newly embodied way. My life/memoir has changed in profound ways. It is so empowering for me to think of myself in terms of self trust rather than denial. That’s huge! Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for your enthusiasm and compassion. I would be thrilled to participate in other writing opportunities to continue to learn from you (and others) as well." Memoir Writing S19
