Pamela M. Olson is the owner of Native Flower Company, a full-service florist located in Sugar House that specializes in custom designs for all occasions, including weddings and events. The daughter of a nurseryman, Olson grew up in Spring Lake, Utah, accompanying her dad in the greenhouse, propagating plants and in winter, learning boutonniere- and wreath-making. Before founding Native in 2012, she ran another floral business, TriFecTa Design and was an editor at Utah Homes & Garden, Utah Style & Design and Salt Lake magazines. She is currently a freelance writer for local publications and blogs.
What Students are Saying:
"Pamela was an awesome teacher. I learned the basics of floral design, so I can make my own arrangements at home. I really loved taking home a finished floral arrangement every class to enjoy. I would take this class every month if it was offered."
"The class was informative, educational, well-designed and tailored to help the students learn more about working with fresh flowers. I increased my basic understanding, learned tricks of the trade, and insight into how to be successful independently. The fundamentals were concrete and can be applied to various situations. Grateful I took this class and for the kindness and encouragement offered by the instructor. Would recommend this course to anyone who is interested in flowers, events, or gardening."
