BYRON CANNON

Byron Cannon is professor emeritus of history at The University of Utah. He has a PhD from Columbia University, an MA in Middle East Regional Studies from Harvard, and a BA from Antioch College. His major fields of specialization have been Middle Eastern African, and World History. Other appointments include a research professorship under the Centre
National de Recherche Scientifique in Lyon,France; Fulbright grants to Tunisia, Egypt, and Senegal; visiting professor of Arabic at the United States
Military Academy; Scholar in Residence, University of Sains, Malaysia; visiting professor of history at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey.
