MATTHEW DELONG

Matthew DeLong has a PhD in Chemical Physics from the University of Utah. He has spent 42 years toiling in the University of Utah Department of Physics and Astronomy, including teaching lab-based classes in Physics and Engineering. One physics class he has taught focuses on statistical analysis of scientific data and imbuing the students with critical thinking skills. He has spent a lifetime trying to understand how simple physical systems and concepts work, like the significance of horsepower and torque ratings of cars. He also has nearly 30 years' experience coaching student athletes in how to focus, concentrate, manage time, and develop mental toughness.
