MAX BARNEWITZ

Max Barnewitz (they/them) is a cartoonist and educator from Salt Lake City. Max's experimental and autobiographical comics engage questions about identity and the natural world. In 2016, Max earned an MA in Comparative Literary Studies from the University of Utah and recently finished their MFA in Comics from California College of the Arts. Max splits their time between freelance communications and working as an adjunct illustration and comics professor. Max also helps organize Salt Lake City's annual underground comix and zine festival, Grid Zine Fest.
