Mr. Leary has spent most of his professional career working in local government administering large organizations such as the Office of the District Attorney, the Salt Lake County Clerk’s Office and currently serves as the Associate Director for the Administrative Services Department of Salt Lake County. His responsibilities include human resource functions, budget functions and administration of Information technology. His human resource responsibilities have included working with lawyers, police officers, social workers, office professionals and more. The Administrative Services Department of Salt Lake County oversees the Human Resource function for 7,000+ merit, seasonal, part-time employees.
Mr. Leary is active in civic affairs, working with numerous non-profit and volunteer organizations.
Mr. Leary’s international experience included an invitation to serve as a delegate to Bulgaria for the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYLPL) in 1998. His continued service to ACYPL as host of incoming foreign delegations earned him the honor of being name the Gary L. McPherson Alumni of the Year award in 2005. He has hosted delegations of political leaders from the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Australia and the Philippines.
Mr. Leary is completing a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Utah, and completed his undergraduate work at Utah State University.
