VAN CRAIG EVANS

Van Evans is a PhD student in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University - Purdue University. He is part of the editorial team for GivingUSA, the longest running and most comprehensive almanac on charitable giving in the United States. He does research on religious philanthropy, volunteerism, and the nonprofit sector in Latin America. His latest study (with co-investigators from Penn), "Called to Serve: The Prosocial Behavior of Active Latter-day Saints," recently made international headlines.


He received a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Utah and a Master's degree in Nonprofit/NGO Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. When he is not in Indiana, he teaches the nonprofit sector and program evaluation at the University of Utah, and enjoys cooking with his sons at home in Holladay.
