SARAH BRADEN

This will be Sarah’s 5th summer teaching for the Youth Education Program. She holds a B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Macalester College and an M.S.Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania. Sarah was a high school science (biology, physics and physical science) and English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher before pursuing a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics. Sarah’s research focuses on how K-12 students are socialized into the sciences and into using science language. When she is not studying or teaching, her hobbies include rock climbing, hiking, running, swimming, making pottery, reading popular science magazines, and baking.
