Jeff Scott brings a deep passion for global exploration to this class, having traveled to over 45 countries across six continents. His journeys are more than just stamps in a passport -- they are immersive experiences with people, histories, and cultures that continue to shape his worldview and enrich his life and interactions with others. Jeff's approach to travel is grounded in curiosity, connection, and cultural humility.
From trekking in the Himalayas and hitchhiking across Kosovo, to riding a motorcycle through India and being snuck into a forbidden Tibetan city by monks, Jeff seeks out experiences that go beyond the guidebook. He deeply believes in being present while traveling and intentionally avoids overplanning. One of his most meaningful days of travel happened in India when he said "yes" to everything that came his way. That openness erased fear, sparked unexpected joy, and introduced him to some of the kindest people he's ever met.
A proud father to a curious 5-year-old daughter, Jeff is committed to raising her with a global mindset and a deep respect for cultural diversity. In 2020, he shared his personal story on the TEDx Bountiful stage, reflecting on how challenging cultural bias expanded his understanding of humanity -- a message that continues to guide his work as both a mental health clinician and educator.
Whether in a classroom or a remote village, Jeff approaches life with the belief that travel is one of the most powerful tools for personal growth, empathy, and human connection.
