This course offers a descriptive overview of the forms and functions of North American English grammatical structures with guidance in standard usage. The course focuses on the terminology that is commonly used to describe the grammar of English, as well as common prescriptive usage.
This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.

This course is specifically for students pursuing the noncredit Professional TESOL Certificate. Students participating in this certificate will register for courses with the LINGC subject code. Participants must complete all exams and assignments, and classes are graded on a "satisfactory" or "unsatisfactory" basis. Those not seeking a certificate should register for LING 350.
