Mountain Bike: Day Rides
Academic Noncredit

Course explores aspects of recreational mountain biking, focusing on safety skills, environmental awareness, skill building, resources management issues, social aspects of resource use, and health-building opportunities of outdoor recreation. Physical participation is balanced with classroom activities and outside-of-class requirements to assure a full-value experience for students.

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.

Online book and material fees may be added up until the first week of class. Students may opt out during the first two weeks of class. For more information, visit the Campus Store Inclusive Access Program's webpage. If you opt out, you will be responsible for obtaining the course materials yourself for the course.

Class Sections For Mountain Bike: Day Rides (PRTL 241)

Fall 2023 Section 1, Starting on: 09/05/2023

3-day bike course. Course will cover technical mountain biking skills on single track with emphasis on safety, trail etiquette, multiple user conflict, environmental ethics, resource management associated with mountain biking in Utah's Wasatch Range, and common bike repairs and maintenance. Class meets in person Sep. 5 only. Field trips Sept 15th and 16th. No overnight camping. Attendance at first classroom session is mandatory.
