Avalanche Awareness

This online course is designed to introduce students to the avalanche phenomenon, causes, and hazards. Aspiring backcountry travelers can learn where to find the gear, resources and training to responsibly enjoy winter recreation. Students will begin to recognize and avoid avalanche terrain. This course is a stepping stone to Avalanche Level 1, PRTS 2007.

This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course. Students can purchase any assigned hardcopy textbooks through our Campus Bookstore.
