CAROL LESSINGER

Carol Lessinger has danced from the time she could walk. After years of teaching creative movement to preschool children, she began teaching an improvisational dance class through the Department of Adult Education at Florida State University in Tallahassee in the early 1970s. Her interest in how people's movement affected everything in their life led her to do a professional training program, studying directly with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais for three years. Since then, Carol has had a continuous private practice in the Feldenkrais Method. She was a seminar leader at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA, for ten years and taught Feldenkrais classes through the Division of Continuing Education at the University of Utah for 17 years. Carol has held weekend seminars in several states and in Europe. Her continuing somatic education spans many years and many modalities, including the Embodied Life Mentorship Program with Russell Delman. She has a bachelor's degree in mathematics education from Rutgers University and taught at Kakiat Junior High School in Spring Valley, NY.
