THIS COURSE IS TAUGHT BY WOMEN AND CREATED FOR A FEMALE PERSPECTIVE. Knowing what and how to pack in your backpack can make all the difference for a successful overnight backpacking trip. We will also cover backcountry skills, safety, consumerism, environmental and natural resource topics associated with outdoor recreation while becoming familiar with Leave No Trace skills. Class meets on campus Sept 1 only. Field experience Sept 11-13. Backpacking and overnight camping. Attendance at 1st class meeting is mandatory. Drops not possible after the 2nd day following this meeting.
