Skills required for safe and enjoyable camping and cooking experiences within the context of gaining knowledge about environmental care and outdoor resource management of constructed camping areas. Car-based overnight camping.

Note: Everything tastes better when cooking outdoors! Stir up some delicious food while learning multiple cooking techniques and tools: two-burner stoves, whisperlight backpacking stoves, canister stoves, and/or dutch ovens. Students will camp at a front-range campground and learn about campsite selection, camping equipment, and how to prepare for their own camping adventure. Class meets on-campus on April 1 only. Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Field experience will be April 18-20.
