Note: This course provides students with skills required for overnight backpacking, including backcountry skills, risk management, resource management issues, and environmental ethics associated with backpacking in desert lands. The pre-trip meeting will cover how and what to pack, with a focus on lightening your load. Class meets on-campus on March 18 only. Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Field experience will be from March 28-30.
