Note: Backpacking and camping in the desert of Southern Utah is an experience not to be missed. You will learn skills required for overnight backpacking including backcountry skills, resource management issues, and environmental ethics associated with backpacking in desert lands. The pre-trip meeting will discuss how and what to pack with a focus on lightening your load. Class meets on-campus on Oct 1 only from 6-9pm. Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Field experience will be Oct 11-13. Overnight camping. Attendance at 1st class meeting is mandatory. Drops not possible after the 2nd day following this meeting.
