Designed for beginning through intermediate snowboarders, this course provides practical skills and information on resource and facility management, ski/snowboard history, and techniques.

Note: Students will finish this course with the ability to: improve their respective snowboard abilities (beginner, intermediate, advanced), use current snowboard techniques, practice current risk management methods, and understand basic standards of ski resort management. These skills will be acquired through multiple days on the slopes, demonstrations, and discussion. Additionally, issues related to management of U.S. Forest Service administered lands, such as those used in this class, as they relate to recreation and other uses. This course is available for Novice through Advanced snowboarder's and will be grouped based on each individual's boarding ability. Class meets on-campus on Jan. 15 only. Attendance at first class meeting is mandatory. Brighton field sessions will be on 8 Thursdays (Feb 5, 12, 19, 26, Mar 5, 12, 19, 26, Apr 2). Fee includes 8 seven-hour day passes for each day of the on-snow class.
