Students will investigate formal and conceptual elements of water-based paint medium through use of Eastern and Western materials, such as Asian Xuan paper, Chinese Mo, gouache, and acrylic ink. Within remix culture context, students will create new experimental painting techniques that support their concepts. Different cultural and artistic perspectives will be addressed in critiques.
This noncredit class meets with a regular University of Utah credit course.
