2nd of a 3-course series. Advanced skills: ascending fixed ropes, pothole problem solving, guided rappels, more. Also prepares for American Canyoneering Association (ACA) Recreational Canyon Leader and professional Canyon Guide Certification. Features ACA Advanced Canyoneering (part 1) curriculum.

Class Sections For Canyoneering II: Advanced Ropework (PRTL 264)

Fall 2019 Section 1, Starting on: 09/10/2019

Students enrolling in this class need to possess the skills learned in Canyoneering (I) to take this class. Attendance at both class meetings (prior to field program) is mandatory. Drops not possible after 2nd day following the first class meeting. Class meets Tuesday's, September 10, and September 17. Overnight Camping Field trip all day Fri-Sun September 20th - September 22nd . Technical skills taught based on the ACA International Level 2 standards such as Navigation, Map Reading, Knot Craft, Anchors, Rigging, On Rope Techniques, Campanion Rescue, ascending fixed ropes, passing a knot, and much more.
