This is the first of two required 3-credit courses in the Macro sequence of the MSW Program. This course develops social workers’ knowledge of social policies and programs that affect individuals and communities, with a focus on federal and state provisioning to support impoverished and marginalized populations. Students examine various phases of policy development, and practice skills related to advocacy and policy analysis.
