Nonprofit Academy for Excellence Certificate

Nonprofit management needs are as varied as the thousands of nonprofit organizations that operate in Utah. Our Nonprofit Academy for Excellence certificate is designed for managers, staff, volunteers, and trustees of Utah's nonprofit community.

The Academy offers a meeting place for professionals to share ideas, strategize and build relationships that last beyond the classroom. The core strategy of this certificate program is a commitment to professional principles and best practice standards. We aim to enhance professionalism among those engaged in the nonprofit sector. This certificate will give you the fundamentals of creating, maintaining, and growing your organization.

Those who complete the program will receive a University of Utah Nonprofit Professionals Academy Certificate.

For students desiring to register for the full certificate in advance, a payment plan is available which will allow for tuition to be paid over two, three or four months. Under this plan, students can still take advantage of the discounted certificate pricing. Financial assistance is available for students under this plan.

Tuition for the full certificate is $1570 and includes materials and seven days of instruction. Classes may be taken individually without admission into the certificate program. Students registering for the full certificate receive a 10% discount off of normal tuition rates. Individuals may also apply to the certificate program after taking individual courses and apply completed courses to the certificate. University of Utah eligible employees and their spouses receive 50% tuition reduction.

For students desiring even more flexibility in paying for the certificate, there is the option of paying for classes individually as you move through the certificate. Under this plan, the 10% tuition discount is not available. Financial assistance is not available for students under this plan.

Due to the generosity of the nonprofit community, we are able to provide financial assistance to many of our students. Please see additional requirements to request financial assistance by visiting our financial assistance information page.
