At Professional Education at the University of Utah our custom training allows us to bring any training, certificate program, or class to a location of your choosing.

Custom training includes content adaptation to suit your organization's specific desired outcomes, and provides demonstrable improvements and measurable results for your employees. We pull our instructors — industry professionals — from a broad variety of professions to allow for a wide breadth of offerings. By leveraging the resources of Professional Education at the University of Utah, you ensure your employees are equipped with the right skills to keep your organization agile and competitive.

  • Create a learning experience tailored specifically for your company needs.

Custom programs are usually designed for groups of 15 to 20 participants.

Any of our open-enrollment programs can be offered as a class exclusively for your company employees. Programs can be hosted at the Continuing Education Sandy or Research Park locations, at your company’s facility, or at another off-site location.

  • Cost savings – With a class of 25 or more, the cost per participant could be lower than regular open-enrollment cost.
  • Convenience – reduce staff time out of the office by holding a class at your site.
  • Focus on your organizational challenges – class discussions will naturally focus on issues specifically related to your organizational needs.

Sometimes companies need the benefits of a custom program but don’t have enough employees to fill a custom opportunity. That’s why we developed our Enterprise Training Programs.

Assessments can be used to help achieve a variety of goals with all levels of employees from tenured employees to those new to the organization to those deemed as rising stars (high potentials) within an organization. Assessment packages can be added to any existing custom training program to help determine the effectiveness of a training program or identify areas needing more attention. How Does it Work?

  • All our training programs are offered in an in-person format except for our Project Management Fundamentals Certificate which is offered online.
  • Most programs above are one day programs unless otherwise noted. Many can also be offered in a 4 hour format.
  • All custom training programs include advance consultation with our instructors to ensure that the individual needs of your organization are being incorporated. They also include the option of a post-session consultation to evaluate the training effectiveness and reflect on observed participant reaction to the training.
  • Training programs can be held at a variety of locations including your office or our training facilities.
  • Custom training is normally offered on a flat fee pricing model for up to 20 people. Advance instructor consultation and materials are included in the flat fee. Participant feedback surveys can also be included.
  • The minimum number of participants for a custom training opportunity is typically 10 participants. See our Enterprise Training Program opportunities if you have less than 10 participants.
  • Discounts can be provided based on the number of participants and the number of training programs requested.

Not sure what programs will best address the needs of your organization or where to start? We have several instructors who can consult with your team to help you identify possible skills gaps and suggest training programs to address those needs. In most cases, we can provide an initial consultation at no charge.

Sometimes custom training is not enough. Many of our instructors are highly regarded coaching professionals and available to work with you and your employees. Individualized coaching is available for those looking to refine their skills or tackle unique challenges and opportunities.
