Course Description
This program prepares students to advance their career as an effective medical assistant in a clinical setting. This program is presented in a hybrid format. The curriculum is online and self-paced. In addition to completing the online portion of this program, students are required to attend monthly in-person skill labs and a complete Basic Life Support (BLS). At the end of the program, students will participate in a Clinical Externship. Apprentices will receive compensation for their Clinical Externship, reduced tuition, and in return agree to retain employment with University Health for a period on 1 year or 1,800 hours. Students will receive a voucher to sit for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Exam. Apprentices are expected to obtain their CCMA.
