Figure Mold-Making & Casting (Age 14-17)

In this hands-on art camp, students will use clay or other figures and learn how to reproduce them using professional mold-making and casting techniques. Campers will explore materials like silicone rubber, plaster, and ceramic slip, and practice creating molds that capture every detail of their designs. They'll then cast their figures in resin, plaster, or clay, gaining insight into the creative process used by artists and designers to make multiples of their work. This camp is perfect for students who love sculpting and want to take their skills to the next level!

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn professional mold-making techniques using materials such as silicone rubber, plaster, and ceramic slip
  • Understand the casting process and practice producing figures in materials such as resin, plaster, or clay
  • Develop skills in refining sculpted figures and creating detailed reproductions of original clay designs
