Watercolors of Utah (Age 14-17)
Youth Education

In this introductory watercolor camp, students will explore the unique beauty of Utah through hands-on painting projects designed for beginners. Throughout the week, young artists will learn techniques for capturing the Wasatch Mountains, the red rock formations of Southern Utah, local wildflowers such as the sego lily, and native wildlife. Instructors will guide students through foundational watercolor skills, including brush control, color blending, layering, and creating texture. By the end of the week, each student will have a collection of Utah themed artwork that reflects both their growing skill and the natural world around them.

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn foundational watercolor techniques including brush control, color blending, layering, and texture creation
  • Develop observational skills by painting Utah landscapes, plants, and wildlife
  • Create a collection of artwork that reflects improved technical skill and an appreciation for the natural environments of Utah
