Intermediate Drawing (Age 11-13)
Youth Education

This class dives into drawing through the eyes (and hands!) of the masters. Students will explore how great artists solved drawing challenges, then try those ideas out in their own artwork. Students will experiment with mark making, play with different drawing materials, and practice sharpening their accuracy while building confidence and creativity. Each student will also have the opportunity to display one of their drawings in an exhibition at the Department of Art & Art History at the end of the summer. Co-Sponsored with the Department of Art & Art History.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the fundamentals of observation based drawing
  • Accurately and efficiently translate a 3D form in space to a 2D paper
  • Use observational drawing fundamentals to create original visual artworks/illustrations
