Does your student love true-crime stories and wonder what drives criminal behavior? This camp dives into the fascinating world of criminology and psychology. Students will explore the science behind why people commit crimes, review major theories and risk factors, and examine real-world applications of research. They will also learn about the psychological profile of psychopaths, including their emotions, relationships, and lifestyle, while discussing important ethical issues in the field. Through engaging discussions and activities, students will develop critical thinking skills and gain insight into human behavior. Co-sponsored with Higher Ground Learning.

Learning Objectives:
  • Explore foundational concepts in forensic psychology, criminology, and sociology to understand factors that influence human behavior
  • Develop critical thinking skills by examining research-based theories, risk factors, and real-world applications in behavioral science
  • Discuss ethical considerations related to studying criminal behavior and psychological profiling in a thoughtful, academically grounded manner
