Discover the essentials of backcountry adventure in this immersive Intro to Backpacking Camp! Perfect for beginners or young adventurers looking to expand their outdoor skills, this camp teaches participants how to confidently plan, pack, and trek through wilderness terrain. Guided by experienced instructors, youth will learn everything from packing a backpack and setting up camp to outdoor cooking, Leave No Trace principles, and navigating trails safely. Beyond learning outdoor skills, participants will build confidence, teamwork, and a sense of independence while exploring natureís beauty. Come prepared to hike, learn, and grow in a supportive and adventurous environment! MTW please pack a lunch a sac lunch Thursday- Friday Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast will be provided- We will need to know any dietary restrictions, allergies etc. Co-sponsored with Summit Journeys.

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn essential backpacking skills including packing, camp setup, outdoor cooking, and trail safety
  • Understand and apply Leave No Trace principles while exploring wilderness environments
  • Build confidence, independence, and teamwork through guided backcountry hiking and group activities

Summer 2026 Section 1, Starting on: 07/27/2026

Camp held at 540 Arapeen Dr. for Monday-Wednesday. Overnight backpacking trip will be Thursday-Friday. Reminder emails will be sent out before camp begins and will include location notes and other details.
