Game Design: Survival Sims (Age 12-14)

Ever since Minecraft, survival games have become a booming genre, with the likes of Subnautica, ARK: Survival Evolved, and LEGO Fortnite. Using Unreal Engine 5, this course will help you make your own landscape full of harsh weather and dangerous enemies. In the end, you will have developed the perfect gameplay loop of forage, craft and survive. With the help of Utah Games graduates, you'll make sure you stay alive and don't starve... together. Learning Outcomes:
- Experience learning Unreal Engine software
- Program essential game mechanics
- Learn fundamentals of explorable world game development
- Demo other students' projects to provide constructive feedback
