Exciting news! We are now accepting applications for our next cohort of sponsored students in the Pharmacy Technician Trainee Program.
In less than a year, qualified applicants can launch a rewarding new career as a pharmacy technician with full tuition coverage from University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics.
Employment for pharmacy technicians is projected to grow by 7% in the next decade (Bureau of Labor Statistics). This demand is largely driven by an aging population, increased access to medications, and expanded roles for pharmacy technicians in hospitals and healthcare facilities. Pharmacy technicians are offered competitive salaries. Pharmacy technicians can work full-time and part-time, and they have access to many opportunities for advancement.
Given this positive employment landscape—both nationally and in Utah—now is a great time to consider a rewarding career path in healthcare.
The online Pharmacy Technician (ASHP/ACPE) certificate offers the following learning material to help students develop this in-demand skillset:
▸ 400 hours of online curriculum that includes:
▸ 180-hour Paid Externship with University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics that focuses on helping students gain the skills needed to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Exam and begin working upon graduation
Once accepted as a sponsored student in the Pharmacy Technician Trainee Program, you’ll move through this process in approximately 9-12 months:
