Course Description
The Dental Assistant Training Program equips students with essential skills for entry-level dental employment. It includes comprehensive online coursework on infection control, radiation health and safety, and anatomy, along with hands-on training in assisting skills, recording medical histories, and instructing patients on oral hygiene. The program is a hybrid format, combining self-paced online learning with monthly in-person workshops and chairside dental assisting rotations. Students will also obtain 90 externship hours assisting at University of Utah dental clinics. Upon completion of the program, students will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Utah Dental Assistant Program.
