About the Program

Format:

Our test prep is based on a unique blend of weekly in-person instruction and online practice through our partnership with Magoosh. Students will learn through our experienced and well-versed ACT instructors, all who have extensive experience in teaching test prep.

In-person sessions are formatted as follows:

  • 1st meeting: Introduction & Diagnostic test
  • 2nd meeting: English
  • 3rd meeting: Math
  • 4th meeting: Reading
  • 5th meeting: Science
  • 6th meeting: Full-length practice test

Each class series will end with the final meet-up being a full-length, test-day simulated practice test. This test is intended to mimic both the testing environment and the actual ACT exam. Please read the section notes for scheduled practice test dates.

Tuition:

  • Each class is $300 plus $60 in special fees.
  • Tuition is due upon registration.

Note: The course fees do not include registration for the official ACT exam. Students must register separately at www.actstudent.org.

ACT Enhancements:

Did you know that the ACT test has changed? Since September 2025, the ACT made the following changes:

  • Reduced number of questions per subject
  • Shortened total test time
  • More time per question
  • Reduced answer choices for all Math questions (from 5 to 4)
  • Science test is optional

Our prep class format has changed to reflect the new ACT format.

Magoosh:

We are proud to partner with Magoosh, one of the nation's leading online test prep companies, to support our ACT Prep students! Youth Education offers traditional classroom in-person instruction with the bonus of online test prep. Magoosh provides online test prep videos, adaptive practice tests, and additional resources. Students that spend at least one hour a week practicing on Magoosh see more of a score increase by 1-2 points; this is more than their peers who spend less than one hour practicing with in-class instruction.

Science Test (Optional):

As of 2026, all classes will include instruction for the science section. Although students must opt-in to take the science portion of the test, we believe students should be as prepared as possible for success on the test, whether or not they take the science section.

Why opt-in for the Science test?

  • Getting a strong score on the science section will make your college application stand out to competitive STEM majors
  • It helps to balance your student profile- if your science grades aren’t your strongest, your science score on the ACT can show your potential
  • Your science score may still be taken into consideration during the college application review process

Note: Registering for the actual ACT is independent of registering for this course.

Why Choose This Program

See score increases with Youth Ed’s ACT Prep!

Our data has shown an average score increase of 2-4 points for students that take our class! What seems like a small number improvement can mean the difference between getting into the school of your dreams or receiving scholarships. Students that spend more time on Magoosh during their time in ACT prep tend to see a greater score improvement. The more time you practice the ACT, the better you’ll perform on the test!
