Oil Painting Techniques: Guided Studio
Lifelong Learning
Dedicate some time to developing your oil painting skills with individualized guidance and support from a local artist. Each class session starts with a short lesson and demonstration addressing painting topics, including: how to develop your backgrounds, creating convincing textures, selecting strong reference photos, and strengthening your composition and color theory skills. Then, you'll work on a personal project while receiving personalized instruction tailored to your goals and experience level. You have the option to bring a current work in progress or begin new paintings in a supportive studio environment. Some prior oil painting experience is recommended.

This class takes place in person at the University Connected Learning and Continuing Education building (540 Arapeen Drive, SLC). Students are responsible for their own materials; find a list online. We hate canceling classes, but sometimes there are forces outside of our control. Please keep this in mind as you purchase supplies and hang onto your receipt. Email our office at lifelong@continue.utah.edu to inquire about the status of a class. **This course is an excellent follow up to any of our Beginning Oil Painting classes**
