Build upon what you learned in our beginner oil classes by exploring a breadth of subjects to expand your knowledge. You'll further your studies on color theory, composition, and value while studying how different kinds of light affect different subjects. We'll try our hand at landscapes, humans, animals, and explore techniques of the oil painting masters. While searching for your own artistic voice, you'll deepen your knowledge on conceptualizing and creating compositions, using a limited versus an expanded pallet, and painting from life vs. painting from a photograph. You'll leave class with a clearer idea of who you are as a painter, plenty of oil studies, and your choice of a completed project. You'll learn via demonstration, individual attention and critique, and a positive atmosphere that promotes self-growth.
