Create your own beautiful bird-themed block prints while learning about the printmaking technique used in Audobon's exquisite "Birds of America." You'll start at the downtown library, home to a rare Bien edition, learn about its history, and compose sketches of your own ideas. Then, join a local printmaker for an introduction to the basics of block-carving and hand printing, achieving layered results using multiple hand-carved tiles. Learn how to mix colors and play with ink to create an edition of multi-layered bird prints. You'll walk away from this class with an edition of beautiful art worthy of framing and the knowledge and tools you need for your own future printing fun!
