DIY Rustic Leather Travel Journal

Create a journal as unique as you are in this hands-on workshop. You'll start with genuine leather (faux leather available) and learn the traditional long-stitch binding technique. You'll prepare signatures of paper, punch sewing holes, and sew pages directly into the cover. Along the way, you can interleave provided materials like scrapbook paper maps and travel stamps or bring your own travel memorabilia to incorporate! You will leave with a personalized leather travel journal and the skills you need to create more at home.

This class takes place in person at the University Connected Learning and Continuing Education building (540 Arapeen Drive, SLC). Special fee is for all needed materials. No prior bookbinding experience necessary; good hand strength is helpful.
