Fundamentals of Fun Beekeeping

Come experience the fundamentals of fun beekeeping as you learn the benefits of bees, bee anatomy, bee social structure, common concerns of bees in suburbia, cost estimating, and assembling hive components. You'll learn how and where to get your bees, how to install bees into your hive and how to keep your bees healthy. You'll gain confidence in disease prevention, treatment, and overwintering your bees successfully. You'll leave with knowledge and a hands-on experience with bees and the option to receive month-by-month reminders of key beekeeping activities.

Spring 2026 Section 1, Starting on: 01/21/2026

This class takes place in person at the University Connected Learning and Continuing Education building (540 Arapeen Drive, SLC). Students will meet outdoors on Saturday at a local apiary. Special fee is for a book that will be supplied the first day of class.
