Beginning Banjo
Lifelong Learning

What do Steve Martin, Rhiannon Giddens, and Taylor Swift have in common? They all play the banjo! Thought to have evolved from similar instruments on the African continent, the banjo has become a mainstay of contemporary American music. You'll learn the fundamentals of three-finger/bluegrass-style banjo. You'll learn how to read tablature, roll-patterns, slides, hammer-ons, chords, and more. No experience needed; all are welcome! Please bring your own instrument as well as a banjo strap, finger picks, and tuner.
