Testing the Waters: An Introduction to Kayaking
Lifelong Learning

Despite being the second driest state in the nation, Utah offers a surprisingly enjoyable array of reservoirs, lakes, and rivers to explore in the warmer months. Join your instructor - a seasoned kayak guide and long - distance paddler-to learn the fundamentals of kayaking. You'll learn the different parts of a kayak along with safety tips for being out on the water. Then, you'll venture out onto flatwater to learn basic strokes and what to do if your boat overturns. You'll leave this class with the confidence you need to enjoy Utah's beautiful water. Students should be comfortable on open water and be prepared for potential immersion in cold water.
