The Quakers are a small, but mighty group of people, often misunderstood. The Quakers aren't Amish. They don't eschew technology. They don't dress in "plain clothes" any more. They are, however, pacifists, against the death penalty, and for human rights and equality of all kinds. They have been very influential throughout the history of the nation from the founding and birth of the United States, to being on the forefront of human rights issues, including abolition of slavery, Native American rights, and women's rights.
