With the generous support of The Bernard Osher Foundation — as well as individual donors, sponsors, and partners — we are able to bring together a community of adult learners who share a passion for intellectual, social, and civic engagement.
Add your support by making a donation, volunteering your time to Osher, participating in our scholarship program, or becoming a sponsor or community partner.
The Bernard Osher Foundation was founded in 1977 by Bernard Osher, a respected businessman and community leader. The Foundation's priorities include programs addressing the educational needs of adults aged 50 and over at institutions of higher education (Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes), as well as other higher education and regional arts and cultural programs. The Foundation currently funds 125 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes across the country for learning in retirement.
Individual donors are making a difference in our community. Gracious friends and supporters like you and others allow us to bring the quality programming that makes Osher so special and the benefits of lifelong learning to more of Utah's 50 and over population. There are many ways you can support the Osher Institute. Make an annual tax-deductible gift to the Institute, add Osher to your estate plan through planned gifts, become a member, or give the gift of lifelong learning to someone.

The primary function of the Curriculum Committee is to secure a well-balanced selection of courses each term that have academic merit and that appeal to the interests of Osher members. Committee members accomplish this by identifying and soliciting qualified instructors, guiding and facilitating the submission of course proposals, ensuring complete proposals, and reviewing the success of courses.
If you have questions or require more information about the Curriculum Committee, please contact the Osher office at 801-585-5442 or osher@utah.edu with "About My Curriculum Committee Application" in the subject line.
Your query will be directed to either the Osher Director or the Chair of the Curriculum Committee. They will get back to you as soon as they can. Thank you!

Osher Special Events Committee members attend regular committee meetings and actively participate in planning 3-4 special events per term. They search for potential events on an ongoing basis by contacting businesses and organizations and help coordinate the tours by attending to welcome Osher members, take attendance, and provide feedback after the event.Informal photos are often posted on the Osher Facebook page after the event. Committee members enjoy the benefit of attending 6 special events per term (instead of the usual 4 per term) and one free Osher class per term, while serving as a special events volunteer.
If you have questions or requrie more information about the Special Events Committee, please contact the Osher office at 801-585-5442 or email us at osher@utah.edu and include "About My Special Events Committee Application" in the subject line.

The goal of the Osher Scholarship Program is to provide opportunities for members of the community to take Osher courses when financial assistance is needed. Scholarship funding is provided through the generosity of our members. Full and partial scholarships may be awarded at the discretion of the Osher Director.
The only requirements for obtaining scholarship funds are 1) a desire to learn, 2) a commitment to attend the classes, 3) an Osher membership for $40 for four terms, and 4) a telephone conversation with the Osher Director. The required membership can be purchased after notification of the award, either before or concurrent with course registration.
If money is a barrier to your taking classes at Osher, please consider applying for scholarship funds . Submit an application form, or contact the Osher office at 801-585-5442. Applications are reviewed and awardees are selected by the Osher Director.
Sponsors are making a difference in our community. Sponsorships provide opportunities for organizations to further the cause of Lifelong Learning and Healthy Aging while raising awareness about the organization's products and services.
