The End of World War II: 30 Days to Victory
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

World War II began on 1 September 1939. By August 1945 World War II had cost an estimated sixty million lives, worldwide. On 2 September 1945 the War ended, 2,193 days after it started. The final thirty days of the War were extraordinary as Tokyo struggled with the reality of final death throes, and Washington struggled with how best to orchestrate the cataclysm. 30 Days to Victory examines chronologically (not topically) the coda events of World War II, events little known by most Americans. Come share in the telling of this amazing story.
