The Great Salt Lake is one of the most misunderstood and remarkable landscapes in North America; it's vast, shifting, and deeply tied to Utah's natural and cultural story. In this three-week online course, we'll explore the lake's current health and challenges, understand its distinct regions and ecosystems, and discover the most compelling places to visit around its shorelines. Learners will gain practical travel insight into scenic routes, wildlife areas, historic sites, and hidden gems that make the lake worth experiencing firsthand. Through storytelling, visuals, and place-based context, this class blends science with soulful exploration making it ideal for curious travelers, nature lovers, and lifelong learners.
