Daniel Morgan: Forgotten Military Hero of the American Revolution
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

Daniel Morgan rose from penniless farm laborer to successful wagoner and farmer. When the American Revolution broke out, he was among the first to volunteer, and fought in Boston, Quebec, and Saratoga. Nathaniel Greene recruited him to the Southern theater, and he was the strategic and tactical architect of the overwhelming victory over the British at the largely forgotten but nevertheless pivotal battle of Cowpens.
