World War II 8th Air Force and Hill Air Force Base Museum Tour
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

The "Mighty 8th" Air Force carried the war to the Germans when no other American force could. From August 1942 until the end of the War, The Mighty 8th overcame huge obstacles and losses, holding Germany at bay until D-Day. Its accomplishments are the stuff of legend. We will hold a two-hour class lecture, and then for the following class session, we will visit the museum at Hill Air Force Base. As we tour the museum, the B-17s and B-24s of the classroom will stand in front of us. We will learn about the airplanes and tell stories about the gallant aviators who flew them.
