Travel with Ephraim Dickson to the site of the controversial Bear River Massacre and consider this event through the lens of three different perspectives. The Northwestern Shoshone had long considered the Cache Valley as an important winter camping ground while Mormon settlers arrived in the area in an effort to establish farms and to raise stock. The U.S. Army was assigned to protecting the trails from possible depredations. Using historic maps and eye witness accounts, you will have an opportunity to walk the ground and consider the events of that fateful winter day.
